Roadside Attraction
Artist
Pamela Clements
Medium
Drawing - Colored Pencil
Description
This is strip of native prairie that grows along fences, roadsides, and edges of civilization in the mid-western states. While being highly resilient to lawns, fields and even parking lots, most would quickly assume the ever changing plant life would all be weeds instead of the unique flora habitat for birds, insects and small mammals. In particular this is a quaking aspen that grows as far south as central Indiana viewed during the magical golden hour right before sunset. It's the kind of roadside attraction that most people miss or dismiss.
